Oh, Where Has Time Gone?
By M. C. Oliver
I have so much to do.
I never knew the life of a teenager was so busy and I’m trying to write a book on top of it! I have so much work to do, and I still want to write Tilgi.
I am officially announcing that I am going to try and publish Tilgi. Hopefully, at the latest, it will open for beta reading February or March of 2026! I’m so excited to share this story with you.
This is mainly because I’m trying to catch up on all my schoolwork. Some days, I spend all day doing school.
But my mind keeps going back to the podcast hosted by Brett Herris and S. D. Smith. That particular episode was about not having enough time for things but S. D. Smith mentioned something that really struck me. He said “God has given us all the time we need during the day. We just have to manage the time we spend wisely.”
Okay, that’s not his exact quote, I mostly paraphrased it. Anyway, on the way to curch this past Wednesday, I realized that I can use my time more wisly. On the 45-minute drive to church, I normally just stare out the window. What if I instead did the some schoolwork on the way there and wrote on the way home?
What if in my spare moments before heading to school, I worked on a blog post or Tilgi? What if over the weekend I try to get a chapter of Tilgi done?
I t might be these small changes that help me complete my writing goals.
Speaking of Tilgi, I finished the chapter-by-chapter outline, and I am now on my 4th and final rewrite of Tilgi. I have already learned so much from this story and I haven’t even finished the first chapter. Maybe I can finish Chapter 1 of 19 this weekend or even today? Well, first I have to finish some math homework before I work on it.
(For a little more context, this was written several weeks ago so I am no longer on chapter 1 but on chapter 10! I am so excited that I now only have ten more chapters to go before I’m done with all 19 chapters. I can’t wait to see how God blesses you with this story when it’s open for beta reading soon.)
Thank you so much for reading!
