Book Review: Beyond Mulberry Glen

Review by Madeline Oliver

Beyond Mulberry Glen by Millie Florence.

Beyond Mulberry Glen follows Lydia Green who lives in Mulberry Glen and doesn’t want to leave to become an apprentice. She would much rather remain where she is in the familiar. However, her two friends, known as the Zs, overhear Lydia’s conversation with Pitt. They race off to go defeat the Darkness and Lydia races after them.

When she finally arrives at Tower Valley with a new girl who becomes her friend, Lydia searches for the Zs. The girl and another boy help but they have no luck until they eavesdrop on several rangers having a meeting. The leader received Garder’s note to find the Zs and return them safely back to Mulberry Glen along with Lydia. Lydia, on the other hand, manages to avoid capture by the rangers and find the Zs. Unfortunately, the moment she finds them, they dash into Tenebrae Forest. Lydia rushes in as well, desperate to find them before they are Taken by the Darkness.
