Book Review: Honey Butter by Millie Florence
Millie Florence is a middle grade writer that published Honey Butter at 13. It’s a cute, fun, and quick summer read for children 7-13.
Honey Butter contains themes of siblinghood and seeking adventure even in the mundane places. Throughout the story, the main character, Jamie Johnson, explores the idea that she should try to love her older sister even though she doesn’t want to. Laren, her friend, shares a surprising background that encourages Jamie to pursue this. Laren also teaches Jamie how to look at the world as full of opportunities even amidst this boring summer.
If you want a fast, cute summer read with your children, Honey Butter is an excellent choice.
